Feeling Renewed from our New Years retreat
I am feeling fulfilled, realigned and full of purpose, as I always do after facilitating retreats.
It was an honour to host Renew at Merchant City Yoga on Saturday, 4th January and I am so grateful to all the beautiful humans who joined to make the day so special.
Many of us can feel pressure at the start of year to make drastic changes, setting unattainable resolutions that result in us feeling frustrated and ‘less than’ when we don’t achieve them.
I curated this day of rest and reflection as an antidote to that, to help us usher in the new year in community, with an attitude of kindness and positive intentions.
We focussed on the cycles of nature throughout the day and appreciated the beauty of the darkness, the emptiness, the stillness.
Whilst we are technically in the new calendar year, in terms of the cycles of nature or lunar calendar, we are still at the end of a cycle. We are not yet in the time of action. This is the time to be still, to observe, to reflect.
We honoured this stage of the cycle by slowing down and reassessing what is important for us in the year ahead.
We enjoyed a slow, cosy, introspective day, including juicy asana sessions, guided meditation, kriyas, mantra chanting, journaling, sound healing and, most importantly, community.
I’m so grateful for the beautiful humans who trusted me to guide them on this journey and hope the day has been just as uplifting and fulfilling for you.
